How PS3 is doing in Japan compared to past consoles.

Wii, PS2, PS1, SNES, and NES were all financially successful. They didn't have to practically give the console away.

You wanted to compare sales of past consoles, we explained to you that yes the PS3 will not outsell current and past console winners, but will eventually outsell all 2nd place consoles. Now, you are using the financial aspect which Sony should wory about. 

Let me be clear:

The PS3 has been a finacial nightmare for Sony, it has cost them billions, but now there a little hope, let us enjoy, please.
