Thank you for answering the question. Now I will try to see why people are calling it better. My eyes are not the best at spotting differences.

Let me save you the trouble - it doesn't look 'better' so much as its sharper both in textures and detail as it's a higher resolution.  You'll only see the difference in clarity of image and AA and the difference is only apparent either zooming in or, in the real world, if you looked at GoW from PS2 on an HD tv vs this on an HD TV.
