Who says it is a job for a developer to seek challenge, or whatever? The industry is money driven. If a developer doesn't want to develop for a console, and they can make money doing stuff for just one console, with less headaches, why berate them over it? It is a business, where you make decisions on who to hire and not hire, and what to take on. In the case of Valve, they had someone port the Orange Box to the PS3, and it didn't turn out well. I recall reading they didn't want to see it happen again, so they don't want other games on the PS3. And then, from there, it has apparently snowballed. The press keeps returning to Valve asking them about this and that. Again, where does life reward one to seek out challenges for their own sake? |
I have to agree with this one point,a company can make millions or billions with very little effort look at Halo3 odst, they put halo on the cover and bam the 1 month of effort they put into the game was rewarded by trillions!!!LOL j/k im sorry.
