Agreed. Personally I agree with Carmack, the focus for a while has to be the SDK and lowering the cost of actually making the game, by providing truly streamlined and sophisticated capabilities. As it stands, game costs are simply rising too fast to sustain for big titles.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
