more or less its to make sure that its ur playstation 3 that is tied to the psn account along with the fact that only 5 systems can be activated at a time, and with the remote play its the same thing, only 5 psp tied to ur psn account to play a dl'ed game and also if a developer was to make a add on that accidentaly crashed the games they could instantly retrieve data on the state wwhen it crashed etc. and about the credit checks its more about their security makeing sure that your able to pay them and their it department that would hould the database of all ur downloaded psn stuff.
chill out if u dont get like it get a 360 or wii
