Also. No I do not value material losses as highly as human losses.
However i'm not childish enough to think they are independent.
Material losses CAUSE human losses.
For example. Say we change things and medical technology funding drops to 1/4th the level it was.
This drops scientific discovery by say 1/2th of what it was.
Don't we end up losing MORE lives? Not only in the US, but worldwide?
