I think Sony's first and second parties have done an excellent job with creating new IP's, and it's a major reason why I support them more than any other console right now. Nintendo and Microsoft do their fair share of new IPs also. You do know that right?

Nintendo: Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Nintendogs, Brain Age, Professor Layton, Hotel Dusk, etc.

Microsoft: Gears of War, Infinite Undiscovery, Crackdown, Kameo, Viva Pinata, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, etc.

professor layton it level 5, gears = epic (third party, microsoft publish i think but gears 3 have rumours it's going multi), mass effect (bioware third party), lost odyssey= mist walker (third party).

infinity undiscovery (third party, but i read microsoft own the ip).

as for nintendo. at much those games sold, they are not high quality, big budget games as sony have published recently.

Resistance=Insomniac, Infamous=Sucker Punch, Heavy Rain=Quantic Dream, Heavenly Sword=Ninja Theory, etc.

What's your point?

Regarding Nintendo, quality is subjective, and most gaming budgets vary greatly and most are unknown. I could easily say Gran Turismo 5 is a small budget game because it's 60 million budget is nowhere near the 100 million budget of GTA IV and Shenmue, but I understand both can be large budget even with 40 million between them.

i assure it not over 20 million.

 as for first party on microsoft, they can't right now compete with sony in first party offerings just third party publishing.

60 $ million its not small by any means, anything over 15millions its alot of money. and it's pretty much give neither of those small games cost that much.

and neither of the games have scored really well on meta or game rankings. so the only way to label as quality it's sales. but jonas brothers also sell alot.
