Bad guys are threating humanity, you must stop them, fight some big bosses along the way, and save the day. I think I just spoiled gaming of all kinds for you now Yes, I've played 1-5 thus far. Lets take the most recent COD 5 - "Youre in Japan, and you have to win the war, one campaign at a time." It pretty much is cut and paste of old WW2 movies turned interactive. Im not saying they're bad, Im just saying they're predictable. Shall we try to sum up MW2 into a sentence? "America is under attack by terrorists, and it is up to you to stop them and protect your country"
I don't mean to seem jaded, I just have a deep understanding of how to pitch a game to a publisher in under 3 minutes. If you break it down to the core elements, FPS games usually have the same premis, just different settings. Part of being a developer is that a lot of the magic of the games that come out is lost, because you know exactly what was done to make the "magic trick" happen.
