Have you played a CALL OF DUTY game before? It's not just any old generic FPS with no story. For me i play Call of Duty games for the single player experience, and try the multiplayer occasionally. Call of Duty games are HEAVILY story based. Get your mind right. |
Yes, I've played 1-5 thus far. Lets take the most recent COD 5 - "Youre in Japan, and you have to win the war, one campaign at a time." It pretty much is cut and paste of old WW2 movies turned interactive. Im not saying they're bad, Im just saying they're predictable. Shall we try to sum up MW2 into a sentence? "America is under attack by terrorists, and it is up to you to stop them and protect your country"
I don't mean to seem jaded, I just have a deep understanding of how to pitch a game to a publisher in under 3 minutes. If you break it down to the core elements, FPS games usually have the same premis, just different settings. Part of being a developer is that a lot of the magic of the games that come out is lost, because you know exactly what was done to make the "magic trick" happen.

Bad guys are threating humanity, you must stop them, fight some big bosses along the way, and save the day. I think I just spoiled gaming of all kinds for you now
