Ugh, I just finished a few rounds of Left4Dead 2..... I'd much rather prefer searching for my own games to connect to than having it done for me. I've had 200+ ping in all of the games I've been 'matched' to thus far.
To be honest, it was a similar experience when I played the first game too.
I can only imagine how 'awesome' 9 vs 9 in Modern Warfare 2 through matchmaking is going to be. A rental or used purchase at best.
