TheThunder said: DICE are the best in the business but man did the take very dumb decisions with the Bad Company spin off.
They fixed some of the problems with BC 1 Multi but added more dumb shit nobody asked for. No prone, Fucking Kill CAM !!! is that what the Battlefield series has come to !!
Man I hope Battlefield 3 is true successor to BF2 not another dumped down version for the console. I want my commanders back, Jets, Artillery, UAVs and great maps like Strike at Karkand. |
I don't know how prone works in the PC BF's, but I remembered in the Modern Combat BF's for the consoles (Last gen and 360), proning led to dolphin jumping, which led to more run and gun than tactical fighting.
I don't know if you're saying the kill cam is too much or too little. I think it's just right. Doesn't totally give away a sniper's position, but gives you enough of a direction that at least you can start searching for one.
If you're complaining that the BC spin off isn't faithful to the PC BF's, that's exactly why it's contained within its own series, and not the main BF series. You can't complain that a SPIN OFF is doing its own thing... if you're just complaining about the lack of new main series BF games, that's an issue of DICE in its entirety (should they stop venturing to other series like Mirror's Edge, or try to experiment like they did with BC and destructible environments?)
If you want a bigger scale game, but for consoles, there's MAG at least. But you can't complain that Bad Company isn't like Battlefield, as they are now seperate one. Spin off vs Main series.

BF2 had that too, they fixed it with a patch and it's not a problem on any other FPS out there like COD (even BF2142 which is by DICE).
Tbh I don't really know how the Killcam works in BC2 I assumed it's like COD (which practically almost spoiled an enjoyable multiplayer for me) so if you have a video about how does it work I'll appreciate.
First let me just say that BC is still my favraiot FPS on consoles (if we inclued PC TF2 runs circuls on everything out there) but damn the game is like 5 years late to the whole online scene. Scorebourds only have points no kills, deaths, assistes ... etc. 90% of the weapons are useless you only see like 4 different weapons in the whole game. Conquest mode was butchered. Mainly because at first the wanted to ship the game with only gold rush mode but during the Beta a lot of people complained about the lack of the classic conquest mode, so DICE panicked and rushed to their office pulled a couple of gold rush maps took out the gold crates slapped in a couple of flags and that was it, and the result are poorly designed conquest maps (except for oasis and that other small Russian village). People took to damn bullets to take down and instead of Dice making the bullets more lethal they said"Hey people take to much bullets to die so .... let's put more ammo in each clip !!" The whole pointer/spot system that if you scrolled over a player and then everyone and their mother knew his location was terrible. In BF2 you had to click a button to do such a thing but that wouldn't be noob friendly would it ?
I don't wan scale for the sake of scale I want some good ol' Battlefield action and MAG doesn't even look nothing like that and the fact it looks like shit.
I just hope that Battlefield 3 is built for and foremost to the PC and then ported to the consoles not the other way around or even not port it at all just give them another spin off like the modern combat crap that was on PS2.

If they can have prone, that doesn't allow for dolphin jumping, I think DICE should incorporate it. But it's not an earth shattering omission for me.
I thought you were criticizing BC1's kill cam, and I don't know in what way you think a kill cam is bad or good.
I think that the score boards is a minor issue, than can be fixed easily too.
Ascension? I thought that the big maps with open fields kinda sucks if you don't have a balanced team with snipers, but it did give you a good break from the smaller urban maps, and the maps had their own unique strategies and points.
As for bullet damage, IDK but if I get a guy who's unprepared, he'll go down in seconds. If I get shot, but I react quick enough and there's cover, I can take enough damage to live.
I think that if they do what they did with 1943 (that came after BC1) then the point and spot system is much better.
Have you played MAG? I want to try it out >.<
And like I said, I never played BF PC, and I don't want BC to be a sequel for the main series. I liked BC1 for what it was (pretty much a sequel to Modern Combat), and I want BC2 to be a sequel to BC1, not BF2, 2142, 1942, etc.
