Son I had time to spent some hours to the Micromania Games Show 09, held in Paris this week. I had the chance to put my greedy nerdy fingers on some upcoming Wii games.

- Final Fantasy : The Crystal Bearer

The level I played was a forest where monsters where dwelling (ofc). You move with the stick, pressing c centers camera and Z brings you first person view ala Zelda:TP. Move camera with the left and right of the dpad. Then, I struggled with the battle system : With the wiimote, you move an on screen cursor. When targeting a monster, rock, or whatever item, it higlights, and you can use the power of the crystal to wield it, and then send it to other monster. Rocks sent to monster deals huge damage while mushrooms seems to poison them. I struggled a bit with the control to do so : You have to target the rock, then press B (once). Then, a little of waggle to hoover the rock onto one's head (the power of the crystal). Then, you have to target a monster with the cursor. Another pression on B will send the rock to the foes. It is quite challenging, and I died quite often.

Isn't there anyway to deal direct damage instead of using object or enemy? That what I feared wacthing all the gameplay video, no way of attacking enemy directly. I can't shake the feeling it's just going to be like Dawn of Mana all over again, a well made and interesting game with an extremely annoying battle and leveling system.
