Beyond the obviousness that we don't track downloadable games, I don't believe we seperate between the different 360 SKUs, and not all of them come packaged with Hexic HD. It's also bundled in the standalone hard drives. There's just no way of knowing how much it's sold.

There is a fundamental difference though between the two titles. Wii Sports is a game that exists outside of it's pack-in, and it's retail price is included when you purchase the Wii. Wii Sports may be mandatory when you buy one in most countries, but you still paid for it. There's nothing to prove that the price of Hexic HD is included when you purchase your 360 or HD accessory. It's practically hidden within your purchase. It took me two months to figure out how that game got in my gaming library. Essentially, it's a freebie. I don't believe there's a legitimate concern to track free games. We don't track demos either, because what's the point. A free game has makes no profit.

Uhhh What? So Wii would sell for cheaper if they didn't put Wii Sports in? Does it sell for cheaper in countries where it isn't packed in?

How do you know MS hasn't added $5 to the purchase price of the 360 because of Hexic HD?

Anyway, on this site who cares? I basically ignore Wii Sports on the weekly chart as a glitch and every game below it on the list moves up one spot. I think there would be a fairly standard (and quick) response to anyone who seriously writes "Wow look at those Wii Sports Legs" in any chart comments or thread.

My only complaint would be if Valkyria Chronicles was 201 on the weekly chart so missed out getting on the list because Wii Sports is taking up space.

To the first question, the Wii costs approximately $50 less in Japan and has been since launch. The only difference is that it doesn't have Wii Sports in it. You do the math. I'm not sure how things got affected since the recent price drop though.

I don't know that MS hasn't added $5 to the purchase of the hard drives. However, it would be unlikely since the price of the hard drives are at very desirable price points and don't have an odd $5 that seems merely tacked on. My point is that if Hexic HD was not packaged with a hard drive, would that drop the price of the Xbox 360 Pro, Elite and the standalone hard drives the applicable $5(or whatever price)? Doubtful. That is why I believe it's a freebie. However, if the Wii did not have Wii Sports packaged in, I fully believe it would have retailed for $199 at launch.
