@A Bad Clown: Sometimes they will let you but I have a friend that used to work for the evil Wally World and their policy on things like that is that you can't use it on the purchase as that defeats their goal of having you come back and buy other things that causes impulse buying which shoot over $100.
Doesn't mean you can't get away with it but I would gamble most won't be able to .
