Dude, that sucks. If you had a small, thin, object like a knife, you could have pried the tray open to get your disc back. it still doesn't fix your reading issue though.
P.S.: you also could have taken off you faceplate and put a straight wire like a paper clip into the right/middle hole to get the try open. that is where most drives have their emergency release.
