WessleWoggle is partially right. A lot of bodily problems have their origin in our mind and that's why we can suggest our mind to act differently in order to avoid those problems. Our mind is very powerful (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_pregnancy). For instance, if you think "I can't sleep, I can't sleep" and you don't try to break that mental cycle, is very likely that you will keep having problems.

My Christian point of view is that these mental problems are related to the soul, hence they are spiritual problems the most of the time.

What I don't understand about WessleWoggle is: if you talk so much about mind control, why don't you tell your mind "I don't need drugs to be happy"...
