I wouldn't mind it at all, seeing as how games for PS2 are still being released 3 years after PS3 was introduced. I can see games still coming out for PS3. I bet the PS4 would have BC with PS3, unless they're abandoning teh c311. If it doesn't have BC, Sony will have another slow starter that's for sure.
One thing they should have learned by now is that people don't want to leave behind their great game library just to buy the next gen. Also, I can't have both PS3 and PS4 in the same living room that just wouldn't do.
