You want to talk about monopolistic agendas and then clearly ignore what Nintendo did in the 80s. They didn't obtain 95+% market share by playing nice. But since they are Japanese and not American, look the other way right? Gotta love Anti-American bigotry like that. And Sony, the huge entertainment conglomorate is completely innocent too right? None of these huge multi-national corporations are angels. The whole point of a corporation is to deliver a profit to your shareholders. And it's very difficult to be an angel when you are set out to accomplish that goal. |
Well, obviously, you didn't have the occasion to read what i wrote in some other threads, but just to let you know, i've often written similar things: i still like Nintendo for the creativity and the games, but when it comes to corporations, i feel nearly the same with ALL of them: Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Disney/Buena Vista, Warner, BMG, Vivendi... all the same for me...
But even if Buena Vista leaves me cold, i still have the deepest respect for the Pixar teams, by example... you see the difference?
Now, back to the gaming industry: i still don't understand how a bad software company is supposed to suddenly become a good hardware company... the fact it's an american corporation is totally out of the equation for me, and "bigotry" is certainly not a word i'd use to judge my feelings and my thoughts: i'm quite an open-minded man, you may view my very various "tastes" in my profile to get the idea...
But anyway, a company with a 30-40% defect rate on its hardware will never gain my respect and my trust... and i have other goals in my life than to make the richest man on Earth even richer... especially whit all the past "Windows history", if you know what i mean...
Just as i have other goals than watching my movies on Blue-Ray: i don't want to buy a new movie collection every 5 years, or a new record colection every 10 years... that "hyper-consumerist" system may burn in hell, as far as i'm concerned... i still have my good old LPs collection, and my regular (and cheap) DVD's are goin' to last a long time, don't care about any "monopolistic" format Sony has ever introduced, or will once again try to introduce in a (too) near future...
And in the same time, Nintendo will still be my favourite dev, and will still sell good and robust consoles for a very reasonnable price, and that's good enough for me... no need to be rude, even if you don't agree, and even if i'm european and not american... thanks...
