Since Football is an overarching grouping of many different sports including Rugby and the American and Canadian variations.

? first it has nothing to do, anyway, call your sport american football and call rugby that way, call your national sports the way you like the international one is football and that wont change :P

It has everything to do with it.  It's the same concept.

Complaining about people calling the US, America and calling it Football makes you a hypocrit...

Since in reality "football" is a grouping of sports and not a single sport.

Then call it football association and not soccer, anyway, no other country in america call itself america, its not our fault you dont have a name.

Your arguement still falls flat on it's face since it's still in direct contrast to what you call soccer.  It's not my fault that the rest of the world refers to the United States as "America".

It's the same as Football and Soccer.  USA makes a lot more sense for an abrievation, but when someone who calls soccer football complains about it... i can't help but laugh because it's really ironic.

It's like when an adulterer gets angry when they find out their mistress has cheated on them.

 

First you made a fallacy of analogy(if its called like this in english I dont know), a sports name isnt the same as countries.

Second, the case for America is tthat its a continent, and just one country in that continent calls themselves america, the rest call themselves by their own names. On football, there are many sports, and each of them calls themselves football(USA people call  AF football, and the rest f the world calls AssF football too), in this case, its just that more people play AssF and call it football, soccer is what USA citizens call it so I dont see the abreviation they made is a more correct term.
