Its USA, not america, its a country that did all those things, not a continent.
USA isnt evil, URSS wasnt evil, both did stupid things and made their own interests the interests of the world and stomped on whatever country they needed in order to fulfill their stupid goals.
Now, on the VG villian part, I could say its just coincidence and has nothing important in it, or I could say some people are just ignorant when they talk about other countries they dont care.
