hmmm, well, after being constantly and needlessly harassed by overzealous noob cops...I have lost a lot of respect. On the flip side, I have had a two good encounters with professional cops, and my grandfather was one...so really, it depends on who the cops are.
One place I lived in, I got pulled over in my own driveway twice for having various lights out on my car. The problem was, both were at 2:30 in the morning, and both had all their lights turned on...way to wake up the neighbors dickface...
Also, the first cop (a green little bacon bits) accused me of speeding in the housing development...which I was not, it would have been stupid to since I knew a cop was behind me. He said he had to go 40 to catch me, but when I pulled into the housing development he was a good 1/8 of a mile behind me...so...yeah, I was not polite to him.
