SNES, easy. Most of the reasons have been listed. The console covered too many genres...
It has my favorite JRPG's, FFVI and Chrono Trigger. Not to mention FFIV, Lufia 2, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, probably others I can't recall.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Super Metroid. Star Fox. These games were freggin amazing.
The most popular fighter ever, Street Fighter II. Yeah, remember that one? Don't forget Mortal Kombat 2 or Killer Instinct!
Oh, and of course, the platformers. Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X, Kirby Superstar, Super Mario World, and some of their sequels, all are great games.
Mario Kart was born on the SNES. This was (or is) one of the best racers ever - if you played it at the time, you'd understand. Hell, play it now. F-Zero first showed up on the SNES as well.
These are only the stand-outs, there were a ton of other great games I just can't recall. Hell, there are probably a whole bunch of games on the SNES I just haven't got to yet (the ones that never left Japan). I'd need a list.

S'more fun times! The best part about the SNES is that so many of its games have aged well. Go and check em out.
