Oh, well, good point then. But I was actually talking about 60 years ago. I think Japan had more hate feelings for America after the war then they did for communism. This is just speculating on my part though.

After WW2?  Yeah, i can see that.  The difference though is... Russia hasn't done anything to "fix" it like the Americans.

In fact after WW2 they made it worse... as the communist governments they set up inflicted problems on the japanese.

For example the North Koreans started kidnapping Japanese citizens in the late 70's.

After seeing what happened to Korea, Vitenam and Germany... and what ALMOST happened to Japan, along with the US helping with the Japanese miracle (although that was mostly japanese don't get me wrong.) the attitude towards America seemed to have changed.

In the Cold War scenario it's hard for the US to not be cast as the good guys.

Just how the Allies are cast as the good guys in WW2.

The Allies did a LOT of questionable stuff too.  Firebombing of Dresden, japanese american internment, knowing about concentration camps but not diverting planes to rail lines that would save thousands of jewish lives, etc.

It's just what the other side did was so bad that's all anyone focuses on.
