Oh, i see you misread me. Look at the sentence again.
It was talking about the Japanese "hate" for americans.
This is clearly show by their adoption of many things US more then other countries... and the US commonly being good guys in their works.
As in. Japan loves American culture more then most countries and in most Japanese films, games and anime Americans are usually good guys.
Even when Americans are bad guys they're usually the "Lesser" badguys who are somewhat evil but better then the alternative... which more or less makes them the good guys in such a work since there are no good guys aside from a small group led by the main character.
If the Japanese seem to hold an irrational hate against anybody, it's not Americans... or even russians so much as other asian cultures.
