Last I heard the were scheduling a launch for Australia and other EU countries.

It bombed.... becuase its next to useless. I know of nobody that has this. People in the UK that have a PS3 are likely the kind of people that want sky.. so PlayTV is an inferior proposition, and if they dont have sky they will certainly already have a Digital PVR.

I took 'bombed' as meaning it was either a huge financial or critical failure.
You're simply offering personal opinion and anecdotes though. I was hoping for some actual strong evidence. The launch in other countires coupled with HD upgrades would, in my opinion, indicate that the product has met with at least moderate retail success.

I know 4 people that have PlayTV, not saying it's a success but it has never been marketed, which is rather typical of Sony really (bit like the PSP-PS3 capabilities they never advertise).
