Based on the research I did before getting my plasma, I agree with what others have said. The cheapest ones you can find are all you need. As far as the longer runs, I've seen some debate about that even though I 'm not sure what constitutes a "long run" 10', 30', 50'? If I had to guess I'd say upwards of 50'. I paid under $2 ea. on Amazon for 6' cables and all is well in my HD world. This site may assist you as you research A/V in the future http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/
