You are right.  I also pay for DirecTV because they won't give it to me for free.  I mean, broadcast TV is free, right?  Those BASTARDS at DirecTV make me pay to bring me more channels.  Viva la resistance!

Sure, it would be great if XBL Gold was free, but it's not.  In my experience it has been a superior product to PSN.  If it was inferior I might have a different opinion about it's value but until that day (which goes beyond Netflix and cross game chat), I feel I am getting what I pay for from XBL.

That's strange. I think you see my point yet missed my point.

You pay for live because with it your x360 experience is complete.

Why most people feel the need to defend themselves for doing this is puzzling.

It seems like everyone need to justify why they pay for live? Is this to make them feel better because they have to pay for it?

"It's better than PSN", "It's blah blah blah".

I live in the UK and pay the yearly BBC license fee. Why? Because I have to.

You pay to take your x360 online. Why? Because you have to.

It's so simple it's amazing.

I am not knocking people who pay for live. This is not an attack on them.

If I still owned a x360 and I wanted to play online I would pay the Live subscription.

If I do get another x360 (pretty sure I will) then I will have to pay to take it online.

Not because I want to or because I don't want to, but because I have to.

Some people, not you profcrab, come across as if paying for Live is a pleasure. I don't get this.

To me paying for Live would be the same as paying for any other goddamn bill, electric, telephone, gas, etc.

To me it will just be another bill, nothing more nothing less.
