They are pretty much the same but some have better made covering material.  I bought a cheap one before and the covering was cheap.  I have a Vizio hdmi hooked up to my PS3 and Vizio hdtv.  Vizio is a nice brand but I got mine from ebay for $12 and I think they are around $30 in stores.

People say Monster is the best but it's no better than anything else.  As long as it cost between $10 - $20 then it should be a nice cable.

Pic of the Vizio hdmi cable that I have.

Monster is a rip off as many may want think its top quality but like 50-80% of the price of a Monster cable is all profit.  Other companies do this as well.  For those that works/worked at an electronic store would know.  I use to work at Futureshop (Bestbuy owned), $200 Monster cables were really only like $50-70.   Workers at Futureshop/Bestbuy, their discount for purchasing is 10%+ the actual price of the product from the manufacture.  My $80 HDMI cable i got, i paid $12.XX something for it.

Monster cables are the best cables though,  and the tests have proven this.   The only problem with them is you really only start seeing a difference when the length starts to exceed 15 ft (5m).   I know they are a quite expensive, but they are of a very high quality, and if I was going for that perfect HD setup I would settle for nothing less than Monster cable.

Agreed that they're better for the longer reach, but still a big rip off in price.  I'd probably go with them if i wanted to setup like a theatre room etc.  but for the common household its not worth it.
