Hard one. I didn't own a PS1 at that time so back then it was N64 all the way.
Well, PS1 had the RPG's:
Xenogears
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy IX
Parasite Eve
Valkyrie Profile
PS1 gets a huge minus for messing with some of my all time favourites:
FFVI
FFIV
Chrono Trigger
Tales of Phantasia
N64 had an epic lack of RPG's. On the other hand it was a dreamland for platform lovers with games such as:
Super Mario 64
Banjo Kazooie
Donkey Kong 64
It also had great shooters:
Turok 2
Golden Eye
Perfect Dark
And is also had 2 Zelda games.
For me it's a tie, though I say N64 has aged better than PS1.
