I'm pretty sure that if you buy a used one and it decides to RROD on you it will be fixed for free no matter how old it is. I have a 2005 model and it RROD on me a few months ago. Even though it was out of warranty they still fixed it for free. If you have the extra cash I recommend picking up the MW2 bundle since it is a 250gig HDD plus 2 controllers and a copy of the game you intend buying, MW2. Its not necessary to install games but you might like the idea of the games being read off the hard drive instead of the disk.
