Maybe console sales, console sales will probably be high. I do not think they are going to get the response they hoped for from the PC community. If they sell a bunch on console so what, we already all knew console sales for many console FPS are higher than sales for PC FPS when they are multi-platform AAA titles. CoD being probably the biggest hit with console gamers, aside from Halo. Some PC FPS franchises, notably Valves still sell millions on PC but arent nearly as hot on console.

IW thought they would be able to garner Valve-type sales on the PC by using Steam and consolifying MW2 even more than MW1, and reach "Valvehood" on the PC. They determined their existing fanbase was a detriment to sales.

They are about to face the reality of the market, and the PC gamer market is not going to reward their behavior. Fans of console style FPS mechanics... mostly already have or would buy a 250$ xbox, people dont typically spend 1k$ on a PC for the purpose of playing console games on the PC.
