At least one developer has it right that they can't port it to Wii.

Honestly I think they made the right decision overall as the game fits the Wii better. If it is good, then it will sell.

Alas, being good and selling haven't gone together to well for the Wii. Every really good, really hyped non mario/non nintendo game has been a flop so far on the Wii.  Remeber Z&W? The conduit? The one after that?

It needs to have a 3rd party success or it really will be limited to party machine /shovelware role. Hopefully this is it, but I don't think it will be. Too mickey for the gamers, to hard core for the non-games.

Being a flop is relative.  About 40 third party games have sold over a million on Wii.  However yes, it is true that there are many other games which would be considered 'core' games many would consider a 'flop'.  However, these games actually do turn a profit.  And do so with next to no advertising and relatively weak 'core' support (bad reviews, little hype and little to no pre-orders).  Yes, 200,000 copies of Muramasa or 350,000 copies of Zack and Wiki are a drop in the bucket compared to 15 and 20 million that Nintendo is selling for their major games.  But considering everything the third parties are up against (and what little they've been putting into thew Wii), those sales are better than nothing (a flop).

And I just want to go on record as saying yet again that the Wii does sell more software than the HD systems.  Including third party software.  There's an article on vgchartz about this.
