However much you profit from one copy, if you set the price to half you will have to sell twice as much. Ne?

Unless you think that the money that goes to the publisher will be a set amount. But I really don't think that's the case.

I think a set amount probably does go to the developer since this was a fan made mod that's being sold and that the 50% off is all valve.

 

For example if they sell it for 4.  1 unit goes to gary, 3 to Valve.

At 50% off selling it for 2.   1 Unit goes to gary.  1 to Valve.

 

So if they sell 100 units at 4.  They make 400.  Gary gets 100.  Valve gets 300.

They sell 200 at 2.  They make 600.  Gary gets 300 Valve gets 300.
