General - Deep Question... - View Post

There is no afterlife. This idea was created by humans long ago when they associated any animate object (from a person to wind) as having something inside them (soul) causing them to move. They thought that this soul that animated a living thing went somewhere when that object died. For us humans, this point is even more important because we still know people who have passed away, we can form dreams about them and infer what their actions and emotions would be on events that are currently happening, so it makes since that primitive humans would still think that their loved one was still around, even if not in the body form.

The meaning of life for humans is no different than the meaning of life of all other animals, self-preservation, reproduction, and in the process making your species better. Not coincidently, this is also what usually makes us happy in lives, and happy is an emotion that humans are fortunate enough to understand.
