trestres, DQX on the PS3? Why in the world would SE do this? A main DQ hasn't sold less than 2.7m in Japan since the NES (DQII, released 22 years ago). As a vast majority of its sales are from Japan, a PS3 release wouldn't make sense. It doesn't have the userbase to support the game.
DQX cannot be compared to the other games the PS3 is receiving. None of them are close to the size DQ is, and the only exception (FFXIII) works because most of FF's sales comes from overseas. It's true that the Wii was dwindling in sales, but are you forgetting how the PS3 was selling? It was doing under 10k a week. The damn 360 outsold it for about 2 months straight. Yeah, remember that? Putting the biggest 3rd party franchise in Japan on a console with such a small userbase (PS3) would be an awful choice, considering that's where at least 70% of its sales will come from.
Now, I do think Nintendo struck a deal with SE. Didn't they say they agreed to give it a big marketing push in the west? I suppose you can call it moneyhatting. I highly doubt they were afraid of DQ going to the PS3 (it'd end up on a handheld if anything), but they definitely wanted to get the word out to developers / fans.
Oh, as for KH3... yeah. I think it'd be more profitable on the Wii (hence, the most likely console), but it really can end up anywhere. Not much else to say about it.
Also, I'm surprised people bring the handheld sales into this, as if they're a bad thing. The handheld spinoffs did (or are doing) fine on their own. You cannot assume the handheld iterations of a series (much less a spin-off) will sell equal to its console counterparts. GT PSP, anyone?
edit: Using KH 358/2 sales is pretty meaningless, as the game just came out in its biggest market (US). The game will probably end up selling over 2 million.
