I'd rather use Vista, despite it's faults, over XP.
The only *real* problem with it is memory usage, and memory upgrades are dirt cheap, anyhow.

I never had any problems with it on my laptop, and a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo isn't exactly what I'd call a fast machine.

actually it is, u know a p4 can send a man to the moon send HD pictures to earth.
u can play most games on decent resolution with that with a ati 4870
7 it's okay but linux still better, it rocks an atom, like vista/7 your core 2 duo.
running firefox and even office 2007 under wine ;).
