The Wii's sales was in slump right now, especially in NA. Ninty cant sell Wiis forever. I betcha even Pachter predicts of that. (And for the record, what he says in public didnt reflect in his real job. He just do it for the LULZ)
Nintendo needs a new console itteration to satisfy the customers. And make monopoly of the gaming industry thats why Ninty was investing in UGC and Digital Distribution
And what did I tell you? We're in the twilight of this generation right now. I wont be surprised if either of these companies will announced their next console as early as early 2011
end of core gaming days prediction:
E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced
E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.
E3 2010- Tape runs out
