I blame the internet. It gives people a way to voice their opinions without having to care about what they say. Just talking about this on another forum in that even though you have a right to your opinion you are responsible to uphold justice and respect as well. On the internet... no one holds anyone accountable for that. Thus you see people acting like they can say whatever they want. Even more so you feel like you are talking to a name when indeed the name is another person.
Thus it gets personal and carries on into real life as well. And no one condones it. Actually in politics you see people actually celebrating such acts that come from the internet such as spreading their crazy conspiracy theory stories (the bad ones).
People just need to understand there is respect and common courtesy that needs to be applied everywhere. It doesn't matter how vocal you are about something you still need to understand your opinion is only reality for you so treat others like they matter too. And most importantly don't use others and outside opinions as an excuse for not being respectful and justifiable... just because someone else or someone on TV thinks this is ok doesn't mean it actually is.
Internet, although a wonderful thing, is just completely destroying social communication between human beings. That or nobody is teaching people this respectful form of social communication. Always goes back to the parents I suppose.
