Father was drunk, but no one cares to think about the effect alcohol has on people, and its ability to drive people to lose control. Also, we get this due to the increased popularity of videogames. If the father was into stamp collecting, the argument could of been over stamps that were missing. And then, it was a situation that spiraled out of control, and the videogame alone didn't.
