I don't think so...
If I am not mistaken, there are already Blu-Ray players that use the BD-live to get netflix watch now movies already. It was probably a lot quicker to use this software that they had already built than to create new. I would say that once they do make the new software the disc will not be needed. The only hang up probably might come from microsoft. I would bet they wouldn't want a similar interface used for the PS3. So they probably have to go build one from the ground up.

I hope you guys enjoy the Streaming of Netflix as much as most of us 360 users do. I have to admit I use this service more now than I do gaming. It was worth buying a console just to make it easy to stream netflix IMO.. Cheers to Sony for getting on the ball and getting this deal done.
