| Dioxinis said: while im outgunned as i havent played tactics ogre(it is on my list however >.>) i will speak in the games defence. fft had a great storyline with a fantastic plot with plenty of twists and memorable characters. for a person playing through the game the first time the game is challenging as you dont know all the ins and out and while the game can become quite easy if you know it well there are plenty of ways to make it interesting by limiting yourself. ie dont use cid or any special characters. the graphics work and there are good sound and visual effects as well as fantastic music. if there is a better game (tactics ogre?) then that game must be amazing. i look forward to it but for now i say fft is a 10/10 |
The best way to put it is this. Final Fantasy tactics is what happened when Matsuno decided he needed to "mainstream" the Ogre series. (he's actually stated this.)
Wish i could find the old article on this.
Another way to put it. In Famitsu's 2006 Best 100 games of all time.
Tactics Ogre was number 7. Final Fantasy Tactics was 84.
In general though the Ogre Series is great, on the one hand you have the Base for every SRPG not Fire Emblem in the Tactics Seires...
and a Uniue style in the "Battle" half of the series.
