The problem with PS3 is their Western games aren't supposed to be as good as the 360 versions. And a lot of exclusive content goes to the 360 games as well.

The multiplat games differences are getting smaller and smaller... in fact, you could almost call that a problem of the past. As for DLC, you have a point - the question is just: a) how important is DLC to you, and b) how much patience have you got? (since much of the DLC is just timed exclusive)
Other than that, it's really just up to taste... both systems have great exclusives, I'd just pick the one whose present and upcoming library appeals more to you (due to whatever reasons). Other advantages: the PS3 has actually a kinda great value now with the cheaper price (Blu-ray, games, ...), Xbox 360 still is the #1 choice for online gaming though. You have to know yourself what's more important to you.

Do blu-ray movies look that much better than regular dvds? I've never watched a blu-ray movie.

Yeah they look better. I own Sweeney Todd on both blu-ray and DVD, and blu-ray was noticeably better (using a 32' 720p TV.) Also The Nightmare Before Christmas looks gorgeous on blu-ray.
As for the Bayonetta thing, it's only 2 points of a difference. I played the Bayonetta PS3 demo, and it wasn't that bad. As long as you don't have the superior 360 version running alongside, it should be alright.
