Sony will be badly in red in next report. Slim does cost still more than they get.

"The Q&A is an interesting read in whole, but the answer that stands out comes in response to a question about whether the lower-priced $299 PS3 Slim will be sold at a loss relative to its cost to manufacture. "Yes," was the quick answer from Kaz."
And how much? Nobody really knows, but there are some guesses like this one.

"The surprise came when she suggested that the new PS3 Slim is actually costing Sony $100 more to manufacture per machine than the selling price meaning Sony is still making a loss on every sale."
And when you add how well slim is selling right now its bloody red all over. However it has more potential because of sold consoles. (Darn I start to sound like ps3 fanboys when they are talking about cell. :/)
So for topic I would say that they won't be breaking even with 250GB PS3.
