Try to see things from the point of view of someone who want's to buy what the industry is offering and ask yourself why. If you can't come up with a believable answer, then it's very likely it's not consumer based.

About digital distribution, his point is that nobody wants it. But I don't understand. Maybe not everyone wants it, but there is definitely a desire for it. Wouldn't that make it a niche market strategy? What is this "technocrati movement" other than an appeal to the niche market?
