Personally, after seeing all 'Momentium' for the PS3 disapearing after everything else that Sony has done I would hold off on proclaiming that it was 'back from the brink' until after the holiday season is done.
Realistically, on January 1st 2008 the PS3 has to have sold 8+ Million systems worldwide to not face serious consequences (and probably have sold 10+ Million systems to encourage third party developers to start new exclusive games); a blip of 40,000 systems sold in Japan is a good start but Sony has to maintain this and build momentium worldwide if it is really to come 'back from the brink' ...
