If R2 was the first one released I believe alot of people would have skipped it in favor of other games. But because of how great the first one was everyone who had it was hyped for the second one. But when it turned out to be such a departure from the first one and started to resemble other FPS games, people started getting pissed. But you are right no one would have complained, but thats because about half of the people would have bought it with nothing to compare it to

Right, and @blackops; I never said it was one of the worst games this gen, It just was and still is my personal greatest dissapointment so far this gen. And Yes, insomniac is one of the best devs but I think the 1 game a year plan is really starting to show how taxing of a schedule it can be. I think they need to slow down and go back to the roots of what made them good in the first place. Find the passion and not have to worry about deadlines as much.
Just my opinion though, which I will admit is jaded from R2.
