Bought Gamecube at launch because of percieved value. My kids were teenagers and wanted local multiplayer games. It was a very good system and nobody really cared what it looked like (a purple box)
Did not buy Wii however, even if I had the impulse often.
If I should buy a system this generation it would be a Wii.
My oldest son has an Xbox 360. I like only the racing games and Katamari, He buyes FPS but actually prefers RTS.
