That depends mostly on what their non overlaping ancestry is. We can assume a general look, as long as the other ancestry isn't too distant from the sharing. We definately can't assume nor see a direct link as you would we siblings or first cousins though. Then again, sometimes genetic information is passed on in the wierdest of ways. By that I mean you share common traits with Great Uncles, or Great Great grandparents, even if you only share some distant genetic link(on a micro scale it is distant, on a macro one it would be very close.)
