I think you will find that he wasn't purposely trying to be rude, the Polish culture is very different to ours and what we perceive as rude may not be to them. Admittedly migrant workers should learn to adopt the customs of the country they are working with, that's common sense, but a change cannot happen overnight as it were. You will probably find he has tried very hard to learn the English language and customs. Anyway, I digress. A migrant worker can work here for an indefinite amount of time if they are a member of the EU, that is their right. We in return have the same rights, if I wanted to operate out of Poland then I can do so. Over 4 million British people work and live abroad, we get the same rights and privileges. This is a two way street. Anyway, if you must blame someone for taking British jobs away from British workers then you should blame those that decide to try and cut Labour costs by 90% by moving their industrial operations to a country where the populations labour force is cheap and abundant. Did you know that 70% of the British economy is tertiary based? It's true, the whole Secondary and Primary industry together only accounts for 30%. Why is it so small? Because Primary and Secondary industry is easy and cheap to outsource. People complain about a few hundred thousand jobs here and there taken by immigrants, but always fail to acknowledge the tens of millions of jobs that are being lost to outsourcing labour. And I've never been able to get my head round that ideology. ... Migration based on asylum from war torn countries is common, unfortunately there are several African countries that fall under this category as well as many others worldwide. There are 101,000 Somalian immigrants in Britain today and I would imagine many of them have come due to the threat of piracy. Unfortunately we need to be a little more strict about immigration in situations like this. |
I know we have the same right and priveleges but you know as well as i do know one here with any sense would move to polond to earn less money, but as for the rest of what you have said I agree, The Labour party has made an utter mess of things, they joined the EU to make it easier to get hold of foriegn workers, I Don't agree on stopping imigration totally, because in some ways( on a samll scale it helps) but the way it is now is ridiculous and it need sorting fast
oh but thing i disagree with you on, that polish guy, yes English is the hardest lanuage to learn and i dont expect him to leanr it, but if i say hi i want a hi back no matter where you come from in the world even if it was in his own language, acknowleging my existance would have been nice
