The problem with comparing DD vs dvd/blu-ray statistics is there is a lot of content not available on physical media. Newcasts, podcasts, youtube, previews, reviews, the list goes on. All available via DD not dvd/blu-ray. The gap will grow over time.

Another point is that there may be many views not counted as sales. Suppose I watch a season of lost on Hulu. That is not counted as a sale. However that probably means I won't buy the dvd. In effect, it's a lost sale but makes revenue via advertising.

I bet if you counted views in the statistics, the growth in internet enabled video watching would be staggering. Back in April 2009, the year over year growth of Hulu was over 490%. Now that's growth to talk about!



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
