I thought that justification was ridiculous actually, student union nonsense.

To deny there is a major issue to be addressed with immigration is daft and blind. The black guy in the suit just asked a very good question. The point needs to be addressed, not glossed over simply because it is a taboo subject.

The problem with immigration is that many unskilled immigrants come to our country through unfortunate circumstances such as poverty and war. These people cannot contribute to the country very easily due to their situation. This is unfortunate, but it takes up a large portion of immigrants.

A closed door system wouldn't work, it would be absurd. The solution imo would be to screen an immigrants motivation and potential contribution. EU migrant workers are totally fine, because they come here solely to work and contribute and it's beneficial to our economy to allow them to do so. From a more international view a person should be judged on what they can contribute, allowing them to immigrate over here for skilled labour, relationships or education. A lot of immigrants come here though through unfortunate circumstances like poverty, but it is necessary to just be tough and say "We sympathise with you, but we can't help you all" and tell them they can't come here.

That's just my view though, a more stringent screening process based on what they can offer us as opposed to what we can offer them. The good thing about this system is that race is not a factor and so it is fair and balanced.

and where do the asylum seekers go?

back to there country of origin? to be raped or mudered?

im not disagreeing entirely, im simply asking what you think we do with people who dont meet our "criteria"

rape and murder happens in any country, Is England rape and murder free? asylum seekers cross MANY safe countries before entering ours. last week a number of failed asylum seekers where flown back iraq, when they got there iraq didnt want them because they where criminals, so we had to take them back! how discusting is that, the Labour party has no intention of capping asylum seekers, jack straw on question time just had avoided the question 3 times when asked about how they where handeling imigration.

And the people that Don't meet our criteria? define critira and i will try and answer it
